Braves have beaten deGrom and Scherzer in back to back games for a one game lead in the division, they go for the sweep and season series win tomorrow which would all but give them the division
Despite a horrific 13-4 loss this afternoon to the gNats, my Phillies came back in the nightcap to win 8-2 behind Noah Syndergaard’s best start with the Phightins. Combined with a 4-3 Miami win over Milwaukee, the Phils now have a 1 game lead over the Brewers for the third NL wild card. Meanwhile, the Padres have stumbled, having lost three straight, so we’re 1 1/2 behind them for the second spot. Talk about crazy!

Absolutely! Gotta win to keep the pressure on Milwaukee.
Houston already wrapped up AL West, and best record in the league, so, chances are they might rest their starters for the last few games before the postseason begins. That said, the Astros could be had for a game or two that won’t matter to them.

I should mention that Shohei will remain with the Angels for the 2023 season at $30 million, thus avoiding arbitration. IMO, that's a mistake on his part, but whatever.
Phillies beat Washington 8-1 in a six inning, rain shortened game, followed by Milwaukee losing 4-3 to Miami in 12 innings. Our magic number to make the playoffs for the first time since 2012 is down to just ONE game.

THE BRAVES SWEEP THE METS!!!!
Magic number for the NL East is now 1!
I will give the Mets this, since June 1st they've been on a 95 win pace, the problem is in that same period the Braves have been on a 114 win pace, so you could say they didn't choke, the Braves just ran them down and passed them. BUUUUUUT they really did squander a soft schedule this month, and that series this weekend was for all intents and purposes a playoff series, it had that atmosphere and the stakes. And Atlanta has turned into a serious homefield advantage for the Braves(unlike in the 90s and early 2000s). And the Mets looked utterly not ready for it.
