The Plot Gods transport you into an alternate Star Trek universe in the year 2364, the year of TNG season one.
You are bestowed with a Starfleet Academy four-year degree, instantly downloaded all the appropriate skills, the rank of Ensign, a 21-year-old human body of perfect health, and Olympic gold medalist physical conditioning.
You get an assignment to any of eight Galaxy-class ships, your choice of which.
However, in this universe, eight historical figures were absent from World War Two, and instead were born as men of the 24th century, all about the same time, all being assigned the captaincy of Galaxy-class ships at about the same time.
Keep in mind that while the genius, essence, and personality of each man is the same as their counterparts of our world, they've grown up as men of the 24th century and so their perspective will be naturally conditioned to life there and within Starfleet.
Your choices of assignment:
- Capt. George S. Patton of the USS Steamroller.
- Capt. Douglas MacArthur of the USS Inchon.
- Capt. Yamamoto of the USS Rising Sun.
- Capt. Bernard Montgomery of the USS Golden Lion.
- Capt. Charles de Gaulle of the USS Vercingetorix.
- Capt. Erwin Rommel of the USS Desert Fox.
- Capt. Heinz Guderian of the USS Lightning.
- Capt. Georgy Zhukov of the USS Thunderstrike.
After a five-year tour of duty, the Plot Gods give you the option of returning home (no time will have passed), or staying for another five-year tour, and so on.
You cannot transfer to another vessel, and if your Captain dies, you get sent back home. If he takes promotion to Admiral, you can join his staff at Starfleet Command, or get sent back home. If you die, you get sent back home.
When you return home to our universe, you keep your memories, nothing else. The Plot Gods let you know that "fictional physics" won't work here, so trying to build a replicator or warp drive when you get home will almost certainly fail. You're welcome to try, though.
Choose your assignment.
