There are quite a few I haven't seen or don't clearly remember so, if I don't list it, I didn't see it.

    1. Superman the Movie.
    2. The Fleischer Cartoons.
    3. Superman II.
    4. Man of Steel.
    5. Superman and the Mole Men (if we were counting the whole series, I'd rate it higher).
    6. Superman III.
    7. Superman Returns.
    8. The 1948 Superman Serial.
    9. Superman IV.

    2. Man of Steel (You know what? I don't have to justify myself to anybody, I thought Man of Steel was awesome!)
    3. All-Star Superman (doesn't hold up to the comic, I'm afraid- but still does the best job of everything on the list of showing how bombastic and explosive Superman's world is!)
    4. Superman Vs. The Elite
    5. Superman III (The best Superman has ever been acted, and the closest to the comics at the time despite the lackluster bad guys)
    6. Superman Unbound
    7. Superman/Batman: World's Finest
    8. Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (what was Batman even doing in this? He was almost useless!)
    9. Superman: Doomsday
    10. Superman/Batman:Public Enemies
    11. Superman: The Movie
    12. Superman II
    13. Superman IV
    14. Superman Returns

To be fair, I have never seen Superman Vs. The Mole Men, though I do have it. I'll watch it some time, I'm sure.
For those that don't understand why the Flesicher shorts count in the grand scheme of this, they were originally introduced in MOVIE THEATERS and thus are MOVIES even if they are also short movies (known as "shorts").

I'll just do a list of the Superman films I like:

    1. Man of Steel
    2. Superman II
    3. Superman: The Movie
    4. Superman: Last Son of Krypton (I know, three eps of TAS, but it plays well as a film and was released as such on DVD)
    5. Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (enjoyed a lot more than the comic)
    6. Superman/Batman: World's Finest (again, plays well as a film and was released as such on DVD)
    7. Superman IV: The quest for peace - I know, I know, but it is hilariously bad! I genuinely enjoy watching and mocking it.

To be clear, 1, 2 and 3 are extremely close and can change position depending on my mood.

As to the Fleischer shorts, I remember loving them, but its been a while so I don't want to rate them here.

Doomsday was dull, I wasn't keen on Superman Vs the Elite (and my housemate was rooting for Superman to kill them! An argument ensued) and Brainiac Attacks was just awful. Superman Returns was a waste of everyone's time (and also ruined X-3) and Superman III is the absolute worst for me.

I haven't seen the rest of the animated films yet, but it's on my to do list.

"Has Sariel summoned you here, Azrael? Have you come to witness the miracle of your brethren arriving on Earth?"

"I WILL MIX THE ASHES OF YOUR BONES WITH SALT AND USE THEM TO ENSURE THE EARTH THE TEMPLARS TILLED NEVER BEARS FRUIT AGAIN!"

"*sigh* I hoped it was for the miracle."

Dan Watters' Azrael was incredible, a constant delight and perhaps too good for this world (but not the Forth). For the love of St. Dumas, DC, give us more!!!

I have not seen most of the movies mentioned because basically me a newer Kal fan.

    Right now my fav's are:

Man of Steel- Very modern look and feel to the story. The special effects don't hurt my eyes. The actor is super sexy. (Lois is Meh though). Jor-el is awesome!
Smallville the Mega Movie (seasons 1-10) - If you put it all together as one big Movie it would be great! (Still my favorite Lex of all times..Cannot stand the old fat bald one).
Superman the Movie- I have watched this with my dad when I was little. The special effects kind of bored me (but I was just a kid). Like CR as Kal, but Jor-el was so stuffy.

    That's it, sorry.

Lemme take a another crack at this. I'm just going to count the Superverse projects that meet the following criteria

    A) They ultimately tell a single cohesive story with a beginning, middle and end (i.e. no shorts)

    B) They were either initially released in theaters or as an original video animated feature, but not on tv (i.e. no combining tv episodes)

    C) They feature Superman as the clear primary hero (i.e. no team-up or group projects)

    So, here we go.

    1. ALL-STAR SUPERMAN (animated)
    2. SUPERMAN VS. THE ELITE (animated)
    3. SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE (1978)
    4. MAN OF STEEL (2013)
    5. SUPERMAN II (1980)
    6. SUPERMAN UNBOUND (animated)
    7. DOOMSDAY (animated)
    8. SUPERMAN III (1983)
    9. SUPERMAN RETURNS (2006)
    10. SUPERMAN IV - THE QUEST FOR PEACE (1987)

    Yet to see:

    1. SUPERMAN (1948 movie serial)
    2. ATOM MAN VS SUPERMAN (1950 movie serial)
    3. SUPERMAN AND THE MOLE MEN (1951 theatrical movie)

Not sure if they count, due to lack of Superman actually showing up in the movie:

    1. SUPERGIRL (1984)
    2. STEEL (1997)

Haven't seen as many of these as I really should have. For me it's

    Superman the Movie.
    Superman 2.
    All Star Superman.
    Superman Doomsday.
    Superman 3.
    Superman Returns.
Superman 4 The Quest for Peace.
    Man of Steel.

From a personal point of view I'd throw the pilot episode of Lois and Clark into the mix in 3rd place. I know it's not a movie but I found it far fare better than the majority of those on my list.

    I don't know about that.
When I say they're not movies, it isn't because of release venue, it's because of length. If theatrical release was required to consider something a movie, half the films on my list wouldn't be available. When I say "movie" I mean it's a feature length production, one-hour in length or more. I'm well aware of the aspect of the Fleischer cartoons as "shorts", and I'm certainly not dissing their quality. I'm just not sure if they're movies.

ALSO: I've since seen Superman vs. The Mole Men and would rate it between Superman III and Superman Unbound, and after noticing that someone else here counted the pilot episode of Lois and Clark as a TV movie, I'd place that one just before Mole Men for best portrayal of Clark Kent as an individual, if not a secret identity.
