Probably grouping the costs of all of the failed Flash projects together.

Yeah but it’s probably not making a profit. They haven’t even started the marketing campaign yet.

Use it to reduce net income and thus taxes? But yeah, you're probably right.

Variety just reported that Flash is still happening.

They'll probably try and get as much as they can. Def not making a profit at that budget since it probably needs 700+ million to likely break even.

More like a billion, BvS cost similar and it not reaching a billion was considered an underperformance

Yeah but that was two of the most popular heroes of all time meeting in the same film. It *has* to make a billion. Even I was surprised it didn't (even though I wasn't on board with Snyder's vision).

Flash has to make more than $700+ to break even if said 700 M doesn't cover marketing costs.

    Well, Ezra kinda did.

With the exceptions of Aquaman, Batman, Suicide Squad, and WW, I'm really skeptical about the success (hell, even the release) of any DC movie at this point.

Just quietly release the movie, don't do much PR, and write it off, if they have to put it out. Cut Ezra Miller loose.

For the next Flash film (if it happens), screw the Flashpoint shenanigans. Go back to basics and tell a fun, exciting, heartwarming superhero tale with a new actor in the role.

Yeah, it's not like Ezra is going to get less controversial. I don't see what the point of delaying it even more is. Just put it out and move on already.

What happens if it flops because of the controversial EZRA? More damage to the brands?

Eat the loss. They'll at least get some money that way. The DC brand is already a joke after the 1-2 combo of BvS and Suicide Squad 2016 so don't worry about that

Get a knife and fork and EAT the loss.

HOWEVER do NOT screw over other shows and movies trying to recoup said loss.

Milestone nor Jaime Reyes nor The CW nor anyone on any other project had a hand in hiring EZRA.

WB had already alienated a LOT of folks over Batgirl-especially POC. Letting any show or movie with POC leads getting screwed over to make up for the lost is NOT going to get you more folks trying to work with you.

At best toss it out there around Christmas let it get eaten alive by Avatar. Or better yet let it battle Wakanda Forever in November. Both can be matching poster children in what NOT to do.
