If nothing else, Spidercide replacing Ben before his death in PP:SM #75 would explain his ridiculous vampire-ish crumbling into dust as something purely psychosomatic, and consistent with Spidercide's powers.
Pretty much. Marvel trying to say he was "the real Peter Parker" all along back in the 1990s Clone Saga was probably the original sin that tainted his character, even if it was no real fault of his own, but rather the marketing execs (and editorial) wanting to shock readers and fans in the belief that would drive up sales. Of course, invalidating the last 20 years of Spidey stories, especially the marriage to Mary Jane Watson, was a big misfire, and Ben more-or-less ended up as a sacrificial lamb when those same execs and editors decided that if they couldn't make him the Spider-Man, then they had no use for him anymore. He's suffered from that ever since.
The spider is always on the hunt.

Well, looks like Judas Traveller's back. Reckon he'll play a part in this?
(Cross posting from Ben Reilly thread)

Yep, he's not shown in full, no face reveal, but what's shown of his attire is unmistakably him.
He's invested in a shipment known as the Heritage Initiative which is en route to being delivered to him, and is working with Orchis
If it's pre-retcon then he could be a bit too much, unless his godlike power is made it so he can only reality warp in smaller scales or something like that.
Man, good one lol.
Also I'm pretty sure that's an average reaction to his return:
Read a bit more of the story for greater context on what he's been up to

Judas has been exploiting loopholes in Native American accords to have mutants of that descent sold to Orchis as test subjects
So yeah, this could tie in with 'Dark Web' seeing as on the internet, that's generally a place where shady trade deals are made amongst other things.
the thing is (and this a reoccurring Marvel issue) pre retcon he was WAY too powerful and post retcon he is almost a joke (anyone want to justify him taking down carnage the way he did POST this retcon... never happen)
edit: giving him SOME magic (like Selene maybe) could bridge the gap between the two... make it something unque and you REALLY have a threat.
In the real world i would be BOTH pro registration and Pro mutant rights. Xavier and Trask were both right.
