If there were a new "Super Buddies" book, who would you want in the line-up?

I’d call them Super Powers. Heroes for hire working for the Power Company. Which oddly has been an old idea of mine that’s been similarly done in two recent minis, except the Power Company part.

Booster Gold - team leader
Blue Beetle II (Kord) - tech expert
Element Woman - Blue, Gold and Magenta as the team’s comedic Trinity
Shazam - the muscles and mystic connection
Powerhouse - the young prodigy/ team scientist
Bumblebee - experienced team player trying to raise a family
Elongated Man - the detective

I really like this idea, giving an in continuity reason for Super Powers and having the Bwaha League be the reason for it. For membership it obviously must start with Beetle and Booster, but those two should never have a team without Fire and Ice. We also need Sue to go with Elongated Man, perhaps she can be the secretary or public relations person. Maybe these are the main four and the rest are rotating members that Sue calls in when the team needs support or back-up?
So we would initially have

Booster
Fire
Ice
Dr. Light
Elongated Man
Element Woman

and then have Power Girl, Firestorm, Red Tornado, Captain Atom, Rocket Red be recurring guests along with others.

I wouldn’t want to just retread the JLI, thought.
I’d prefer Fire and Ice as part of a revamped Global Guardians.
Basically classic JLI would spin-off two books. Super Powers would inherit the humor and general feel and GG would be the more serious international team.

If DC were going to do another book based on the Keith Giffen-era Justice League, what characters would you want in the book?

I'd say Booster, Beetle (Ted Kord), Fire, Ice, Guy Garner, Captain Atom and Power Girl would be "must haves" and I'd toy with maybe putting Red Tornado on in place of Martian Manhunter.

I had a another thought that it might be fun if Beetle and Booster used their new found capital to buy up other superheroes for hire groups in the DCU, and bring over characters from those other groups.

Skyrocket from Power Company would be a must! Plus, maybe Josiah Power in the Max Lord role. Maybe Bork for the "big guy" role (ala Kilowog). Maybe even Jen Stuart and the Haunted Tank as transport! (Jen could be a love interest for Ted maybe).

Then from the old Hero Hotline, maybe Zeep the Living Sponge (in for G'nort) and Soozie Q (in the Oberon role). Maybe Flex....just because I like the character...and a sub for Elongated Man.
