Really? "El Muerto"? But it's one of Spider-Man's less known adversaries. What's the point?

I have no idea who this guy is.
"Cable was right!"
Big wheel movie when?
I know people enjoyed the Venom films but this Spider-Man universe without Spider-Man is such a broken idea. The fact that these are their kind of plans will only accelerate the failure.
See, I don't necessarily think it's a bad idea. There are a lot of interesting characters in there that absolutely could make for a cool movie. Morbius is a perfect example. He's an interesting, unique character that exists separately from Spider-Man. But his movie sucked, not because it was a bad idea, but because Sony is lazy.
i was gonna say someone must have had one hell of a pitch for this but since it's Sony, they probably just looked at Wikepedia for a spidey related mexican character because they wanted a mexican hero or something and this is the first guy that got.
Sure, but Spider-Man being absent both thematically and on screen really robs those characters of interactions and interesting development.
Venom is a special case since the original incarnation hasn't been a Spider-Man villain for like, 20 years. Even so, he, and most great SM villains, were created as foils to a guy who's never even seen.

A movie about The Living Brain can't be far away now, can it?
Here's how this can lead to Hellion.
While Sony exhausts their Spider-material, the MCU will incorporate the X-Men. Naturally, they'll be a big hit and incredibly popular. With less options to go with and the Paper Doll spin-off flopping, Sony will want to get a piece of that pie. And what mutant is connected to Spider-Man? Hellion. And with him comes several popular mutants, including Emma Frost, the Hellions and the New Mutants.
So let Sony continue to go down the checklist. A checklist Hellion is on. Once the other names are of the way, Hellion will finally have his time to shine.
So who else thought this was a joke when they saw it?
This is a bit like The Rock/Black Adam situation where Sony asked Bad Bunny which character he would like to play and he chose this one.
Sony gonna have Timothee Chalamet playing Alpha. Just a matter of time now.
Why isn't Sony getting Sam Raimi back to make a Spider-Man 4/Spider-Girl movie, starring Sophia Lillis as Mayday? And make a Web Warriors franchise?
