With this and Gwen Retuning as a tie in issue it seems the writers hit a dead end .i hope im wrong but it feels like it
Editorial should know not to throw all these tropes down so soon. The prevailing sentiment on this thread is richly deserved. I believe in the "Tropes are tools" approach, and I'm not opposed to gimmicks. Plot contrivances are neither bad nor good. Should Zeb Wells succeed, bravo. I'm not holding my breath.
I honestly can't wait for the next issue, and I don't want to see it at the same time. Mainly because I'm afraid of what kind of story they are going to give us if they actually explain us what the Hell is going on here. if they push my buttons, I could get really REALLY mad.
Official preview's recap page says MJ has moved on from Peter
"He's pure power and doesn't even know it. He's the best of us."-Matt Murdock
"I need a reason to take the mask off."-Peter Parker
"My heart half-breaks at how easy it is to lie to him. It breaks all the way when he believes me without question." Felicia Hardy
At this point, I just want them to write all the established love interests out of the book until the current editorial staff has vacated their chairs. Let Gwen rest in peace, let Felicia have fun in her own book or guest starring with other heroes, and send MJ to, say, London to star in the West End. Give Peter all the interchangeable one-note Liens/Lians they want. The bait is just tiresome, and usually results in character assassination anyway.
