A couple merged as one is actually a pretty neat premise. I actually think they did it with Firestorm at some point.

Yeah, when Jason became Firestorm in his series, he bonded with Gehenna.

It would be awkward if they ever want a divorce...

Anyway, looks kind of interesting, but I swear I've heard this before, Firestorm notwithstanding.

I think Kent and Inza briefly shared Dr. Fate at one time, too.

The cover art looks real good, but the interiors aren't my style.
Nice concept, though. I wish it luck.

This is a reimagining of an original Milestone series. David Kim was a scientist who gained the ability to absorb molecules to heal and repair himself making him an immortal Xombi. Kelly Sanborne was absorbed by David. Xombi went very weird and seemed to be the Vertigo side of Milestone. This seems like the misuse of what was a very interesting and weird series.

I thought it was a decent intro issue.

Xombi was one of my favorite Milestone titles so I was really looking forward to this. I liked the first issue. It kept the core concept but added the “two minds in one body” theme. It was definitely a very brutal superhero origin story.

I gotta say I’m not digging the costume design. The gold body suit just looks odd.

^^^That was (more or less) the premise of an old comic called Ball & Chain…:

The couple were headed for divorce when they got superpowers that only work when they’re in close proximity. Hadn’t thought of this book in years.

Can't say I'm famiar with Xombi but I'm looking forward to checking this out. Sounds pretty cool.
