Jean Grey in the words of Walt Whitman, from his masterpiece Leaves of Grass, "Song of Myself" (51 and 52):

"Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)"

"Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged, Missing me one place search another, I stop somewhere waiting for you."

The artist on the book continues to deliver. Great art from those panels. Page feels like a rewrite based on the first 11 issues though but granted i didn't read issue 12.

I swear to God, if Aaron's stupid "We are God's vomit" line ends up sticking, I'm going to be the one vomiting.

Hellion could make that line work.

I personally have a perverse respect for how utterly nihilistic and morbid that origin story for the rise of life, especially superhuman life, on Earth was. Like something out of heavy metal. Or death metal, maybe.

I loved Gillen and Ribic's run on Eternals but I must say disposing of Thanos in a couple of pages after all the build-up felt a bit anticlimactic. I understand the need to clear the deck to make room for AXE, and to get rid of Thanos otherwise AXE would inevitably have been all about him LOL, but still, it felt a wee rushed.

Not bad. So the Eternals' mission was to exterminate the Deviants who mutated too much, making their race more stable, and Deviants were supposed to breed with the Mutates, stabilizing them and producing Mutants... It almost makes sense...

The one problem I have with the story so far is that most of the Eternals basically become robots when they encounter 'Excess Deviation'. They literally lose all control of themselves and just murder whatever triggered it. So its less of a philosophical conflict and more of a 'these guys are literally enslaved to do this' conflict.
