Default New Mutants 26 preview: Old Woman Magik?

    https://www.cbr.com/new-mutants-intr...-sword-marvel/

I did not see them meeting the Illyana version of Cable as the next place the story was going.

How original…..Somehow I don’t like the idea of yana getting old
Ommadon: “By summoning all the dark powers I will infest the spirit of man So that he uses his science and logic to destroy himself. Greed and avarice shall prevail, and those who do not hear my words shall pay the price. I'll teach man to use his machines, I'll show him what distorted science can give birth to. I'll teach him to fly like a fairy, and I'll give him the ultimate answer to all his science can ask. And the world will be free for my magic again.”

Those horns, though. Could old Illyana be the real villain, not Belasco?

I doubt it, but I'm not entirely dismissive of the idea the way I am it being Witchfire. The horns, cape, and body-type are all different from the mystery villain. Also looking at her I would imagine her to be more the gruff swearing type as opposed to the more formal speech the villain had. Still, the idea that the villain is Illyana in some form has a lot going for it right now.

It's funny how Warlock has basically become an accessory for other people to wear/wield. Self-friends suck.

Or an alternate of some kind. Time and space are weird in Limbo.

This arc has only two more issues after this. So I don’t know if it has time to introduce someone else other than old Illyana.

Vita Atala deals a lot with internal struggle, internal demons like Farouk’s Shadow King, etc. The Darkchilde aspect of Magik likely did not want her to give up the throne and so acted to do this.

Magik may have to go overcome her to determine her fate.

Belasco was not able to shatter the soulsword, but it makes since other version of Illyana could.

Then the Darkchilde is Magic’s great enemistad enemy. Not Belasco.

Magical characters meeting old versions of themselves is starting to become a trope at Marvel now. First Wanda, now Magik. Are Pixie and Dr. Strange next?
