What If Rom Became War Machine?

Ok all of you legal heads out there, what do you think? Is this doable? Or is Marvel prohibited from delineating our favorite Galadorian guardian in any type of armor?

As for fans of both War Machine and Rom, please give your pros and cons as to why a temporary mantle swap like this should/should not happen. Let's discuss.

I believe Marvel can still use the human version of Rom - which would fit nicely with the idea of making him War Machine. There may be an issue with using the name Rom though. I don't think he was ever named in the wedding, and he definitely was not named in the Starlin Spaceknights mini. Could go with a story where he is needed, but he does not want to use or cannot use the grafting tech anymore. I would even say it doesn't have to be the War Machine mantle per se. Stark could make him his own armor. Not having the Neutralizer would be a big blow though.

Still don't get why they don't just give him a new ip and robot form like they did team americas outfits and godzilla. They own his human form. Use it.
