Default DC is doing Swimsuit variant month yet still no Marvel Swimsuit issues.

Seriously, Marvel, you need to keep up, hopefully it would encourage them.

Those were fun back in the day and they were a bit of a parody of the more famous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. SI has hit the bottom (see what I did there) with Kim Kardashian this year.

I concur. I miss it very much, especially the parodies (LOL):

I loved the old Marvel Swimsuit issues. I never paid much attention to them until my middle school banned them. Then they became huge in my school. it became a sign of Fight the Power to tape the pictures on the walls of the school. it was a huge social moment against censorship that lasted a fun 3 days!

Those Swimsuit Issues were fun back in the day, in a very different time, with a very different readership. I'm not sure how lucrative they can be in 2022. Fun yes...I suppose for nostalgic reasons but will they be "totally rad" with today's oh-so-cynical readers and whose numbers are far less than they were in the 90's?

DC's Swimsuit variants is a decent speculative push but do we really need more speculation-driven sales that don't translate into sustainable, long term success?

Isn't Udon doing a Street Fighter swimsuit issue every year? If it works for them, it can work for Marvel.
Bringing back the old, killing the young: that's the Marvel way

Yeah Definitely, Udon been saying their sold well and they been doing it since 2016. and next week they will released their 2022 edition. Marvel so need to bring it back, especially with DC doing variants on it.

best not to do it. avoid the controversy. avoid drawing women in "those" type of poses. leave it alone. DeviantArt has it covered.

Huh. Best you tell DC then?

Anyway some of Marvel’s variant covers aren’t all fully SFW.
