Question Your expectations for Zeb Wells' run?

Do you think he will deliver good stories and depictions of the characters? What do you want to see in future Spidey stories?

    An original idea.

Maybe we'll get that one day. It has to happen at some point, right?

I expect nothing and I'll still be disappointed.

I don't think the future is bright for the character. Just more gimmicks

I expect a Spider-Man/Hellion story and I not want to be disappointed.

That it ends as quickly as possible.

Aside from that, plot-driven and gimmick after gimmick "storytelling", bait solicits and covers, mystery boxes. Maybe some kids getting killed. Knife-twisting cruelty.

Me being unwilling to keep reading it. Sad, since I never like to drop ASM, but true.

BND was the past. He's now giving brain damage to a beloved character to create an ill defined antagonist

An original idea in comic books? That would be new lol.

Since they're basically nonexistent/that he'll be horrible, I am pretty sure he won't disappoint. He's one of those writers who doesn't 'get' Spider-Man, like Slott and all of the BND brain trust (Waid is probably the worst offender though) who think it's a humor book about a kid. I, and others, see it as a tragedy, about the progression of a man's life. He may have super powers, but in the end of the day he's just a person who ages and grows like us.

To say something nice, the one issue he wrote I really did like was his J Jonah 'Behind the Mustache' issue. And then Waid had to ruin it by making it Jonah's stepfather, because he REALLY thought it was hilarious giving Aunt May an old boy toy. No one got more mileage out of Jay Jameson that Slott though, who dropped the phrase 'cousin by marriage' every chance he got (cringe). I didn't think it was that interesting because Jameson Sr. was decent. Might as well bring Lubensky back. It's no surprise he was killed off as it presented zero story ideas- having May shack up with the original abusive father Wells presented. How does Peter solve that; two generations of Jameson putting upon both his identities.

My expectations are very negative. When Lowe referred to Shed as “One of the great Spider-Man stories of all-time” I knew I would have a problem with this run (even more then Slott and Spencer). The best things to hope for are an occasional good story ( think the “Broken clock is right two times a day” analogy). 2: The Wells run sucks so much, Marvel realizes after this run, what they have been doing since OMD, has been an “Epic Fail” and it is time to change direction before ASM 1000. 3: Wells does not make things worse for whoever follows him.

I would say I'm very curious and optimistic, but Issue 2 previews destroyed my hopes. I'm very conflicted about this.
