That male Rachel was probably a version that was Scott and Jean's kid.

actually, he made those assertion in 2004, at which point in time, internet was everywhere, tch tch. Here is another instance in which he forgot Rachel has no alternate counterpart in X-men: The End. He had Rachel merged into a Tree of Life, when he KNOWS she was supposed to return to DOFP verse and have kids with Franklin.

The 'he' in this context is Brian Braddock, the 'her' is the gender flipped Rogue; Braddock's power is overloading Rogue when he tries to steal it. Or that's how I read it.
