I mean why have a new Thor if the old one isn't dead or missing in action or removed via Odin like before ?
Wouldn't that cause problems or two ?
At least Captain America's still around to give Sam pointers if he needs it.

*searches for a good place to sit**waits for the fireworks*.
How i know Thor is unworthy for something he did, and the old Nick Fury remind him of that.
Well, if I allowed myself to ask that question, I'd have to question what the need for Beta Ray Bill is.
What's the point of Supergirl with Superman around?
What's the point of X-23 with Wolverine?
What's the point of Spider-Girl with Spidey?
Etc.

Honestly who really knows, but why introduce Thora when you already have a Thor Girl?
Because this Thor fills a slot in a story Aaron wanted to tell. There's also the element of mystery surrounding her, unlike with Thor Girl.
You get an Unworthy Thor action figure out of it, which you wouldn't get if he was gone.
Notice that none of these examples use the same exact name as the original character.
While Marvel has gone out of it's way to say Thor-woman is not Thor-girl, Thor-chick, Thoretta, etc, etc, she is Thor.
The situation here is that she is Thor while Thor is hanging around so who is Thor when you ask for Thor?
Thor with the hammer. Thor with the axe.
Probably a lot to scream while you're in danger, so make that scream count.
Yeah... Its pretty non-sensical when you put it like that.
No... not she really ISN"T she has the power of thor. The guy with the AXE on the avengers team?she is Thor.
He's the person that's been on all the adventures over the years, right?
The original Beta ray bill as a good example of how people picking up that hammer don't automatically gain all the adventures of thor. So it is really weird, to see the guy on the avengers and her doing her own thing with the hammer.
Ultimately, this is just being played for "sales", and also the question of BRAND IDENTITY. Can you put whoever you want as Thor, Cap, and Ironman and call them "The avengers"? Why not, Norman Osborne ala Bendis did it.

My priority is enjoying and supporting stories of timeless heroism and conflict.
Everything else is irrelevant.
