Hellion and Johnny Storm would be comedy gold, two guys with the highest opinion of themselves this side of Emma Frost, forced to work together?

But yeah, I do like to see some interconnectedness between mutant heroes and 'everyone else.' Torch and Daken had an interesting relationship. Spider-Man has had ties to various students (Rockslide, Hellion, Ernst, Martha Johanssen and Shark Girl) and has a more funky relationship with Wolverine (after their *great* crossover / team-up involving the spy Charlie years ago). Northstar and Aurora started out their careers working with various non-mutant heroes, with a government agency (Dept H) that actively recruited mutants (like Diamond Lil, Madison Jeffries, Flashback, Smart Alec, Manikin, Stitch, Pathway and Goblyn)!

These days whenever X characters cross over into other books for even casual appearances its always because of some kind of Krakoa business. Its honestly kind of a bummer because it largely ignores the character reasons people might have to interact. Like, i'd be happy for Daken to show up in an F4 story because he was pretty good friends* with Johnny Storm. Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel know almost everyone. Hell, one of my favorite stories was when Hulk and Wolverine met and basically compared parenting styles. Both thought the other was much worse.
