    Default Dr. Midnight

    I keep trying to fing a comic that Dr. Midnight was in in the late Seventies or early eighties. In it he battle a shadow creature. It also has the Justice Society. I know it's not much to go on. Any help is appreciated.

    Well, as far as I can recall, late 1970s/early 1980s sort of narrows it down to either:
    * Adventure Comics
    * All-Star Comics
    * All-Star Squadron
    * Justice League of America
    * Wonder Woman

    Unless, of course, it was a reprinted story.

    Do you recall when this adventure was suppose to be occurring? If it took place in the 1940s, when Dr. Mid-Night was in his prime, that would likely be either All-Star Squadron or Wonder Woman.

    I think it may have been Adventure Comics or Justice League of America. Not totally sure.

    Was it a solo story or a team up?

    I think Adventure Comics can be ruled out. I just checked the descriptions of the JSA appearances in issues 461-466 and Dr Mid-Nite apparently missed four of the six issues completely. Issue 466 is about the 1950s break-up of the JSA, so that one doesn't sound right. If it isn't issue 461, it isn't Adventure Comics.

    One other possibility might be the last issue of Secret Society of Super-Villains (#15) in 1978 when Dr. Mid-Nite and Atom both showed up. The story was to be continued in the next issue, but then the "DC Implosion" occurred.

    Is there any chance this was in "Crisis on Infinite Earths?"

    If not, are you positive of the timeframe? Otherwise it might be when the new Dr Mid-Nite was with the JSA during the Obsidian storyline?

    Those are the only things that come to my mind.

    That would be mid-1980s (1985-86), not "in the late Seventies or early eighties".

    So if the timeframe originally given is correct, CoIE would be a little late.

    If it is Justice League of America, this is a collection of the covers of that series. Just click on the url address https://www.coverbrowser.com/covers/...gue-of-america
