Default Nightwing vs the Circus of Crime

Nightwing vs the Circus of Crime. Usual Khazan defaults, except that the arena is a 3-ring circus tent. The PA system is playing The Tears of a Clown, by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles.

This iteration of the Circus of Crime consists of the Ringmaster, Princess Python, the original crafty Clown, Bruto the Strong Man, Human Cannonball, the Great Gambonnos, and Live Wire.

If the fight is too easy for Nightwing, can he beat the Circus before the song ends?

If the fight is too hard for Nightwing, give him his old Robin utility belt.

Which one is Live Wire? I don't know of LiveWire in Marvel. If it's the DC Livewire, it's quite a bit tougher due to no obvious water sources.

In general, I think he takes the rest of them pretty easily. It's a standard Nightwing comicbook issue. Livewire will make it tougher, but Nightwing should still win (after song).

I feel Little_Mac basically summed it up. This is a one-off problem for Nightwing, in an issue where the writer is interested in character building.
    Why are we here?

"Superboy Prime (the yelling guy if he needs clarification)..." - Postmania
"...dropping an orca whale made of fire on your enemies is a pretty strong opening move." - Nik
"Why throw punches when you can be making everyone around you sterile mutant corpses?" - Pendaran, regarding Dr. Fate

I vaguely recall a comic where the Circus gets defeated by Ghostrider battling the Clown and the Ringmaster (whom he bested without much effort), and meanwhile, the rest of the Circus was taken down by clever tactics from the civilians of the town.

Even going in without any weapons, I see Nightwing managing to ninja his way through the group, yoink some of their own weapons in the process, and whoop them fairly solidly. Maybe they could get lucky in a dogpile. I do think their sheer numbers and depending on how they approach him, he might not get them all KOed before the song ends, but he'd still be able to take them down at a good pace. There's a slight chance the Circus manages to pin him long enough for Ringmaster hypnotize him, though I'm not sure how well that would work.

With the utility belt, I don't think much stops him from throwing out some gas pellets and cleaning house with his sticks. Don't remember if he has area-of-effect knock-out weapons like knock-out-gas pellets in the belt, though.

Didn't they have a snake that can take down the hulk or something?

    ‘Did’, not ‘can’.

    It can’t, but it did.

SvH is probably worse than SMvFL.

Pretty sure it was just a normal boa constrictor. I don't think any of the Circus have actual super powers, though some of them use special gadgets, and Princess Python gets her snake to attack people.

Looking at those descriptions, I feel that the biggest issue is that former circus brat Dick Grayson would have to fight like hell to keep his eyes from rolling so hard that he permanently blinds himself.

Somewhere out in Hypertime, Nightwing re-dons his Robin outfit and convinces the Circus that it would be much more cooler to fight crime, and they become the Circus of Justice.
