Yeah I'm pretty sure that Hessia was originally intended to be Donna Troy instead of a new character.

I think the best thing about Azzarello's run ending is that the expectation to regularly praise his work or keep quiet should no longer be an expectation around here.
And the expectation of random snark will subside.

No, there's nothing to suggest she was ever intended to be Donna herself or any other rebooted character from the past continuity. Fan speculation was that she'd turn out to be Donna's mother, but again, that was just fan spec as well.

Isn't her backstory before the new52 mostly about knowing and having the powers of the multiverse and titans of myth and aware of all of her origins and all the crisis'? maybe they don't want to introduce her till they are ready to address that?

Your talking about the origin that was crafted in 1989. They came up with that one to account for Donna and Diana no longer sharing a conncection thanks to the COIE reboot in 1986. George Perez's WW didn't include Donna in the 1986 reboot. Although George Perez did come up with an origin for Donna in 1980 and 1984 with Marv Wolfman; when the two were involved on New Teen Titans. The original origin for Donna was she was rescued by WW from an apartment building that was on fire. Diana was unable to find any living relatives for Donna, so she brought her to Paradise Island to live as an Amazon. Donna became Wonder Girl when she grew up and later joined the Teen Titans.

COIE and George Perez's WW rebooted a number of the character's origins. Like the New 52 reboot, some characters canon's were not changed (Legion of Superheroes, Batman, Flash, GL, Teen Titans) while others were (Superman and WW). Post COIE WW made her debuted after several other heroes came out to the public. Superman was just starting, Batman had Jason Todd as his Robin, and the Teen Titans still had Donna and Dick Grayson was Nightwing. So the previous origin of Diana rescuing baby Donna couldn't work Post COIE. So Marv Wolfman and George Perez came up with the Troia/Titans origin in New Teen Titans "Who is Wonder Girl" 1989. Although Marv Wolfman preferred his original one to the one that came later due to COIE retcon/rebooting.

The Legion of Superheroes got screwed over the same way with the Superboy and Superman retcon post COIE.

To be more accurate with the Futures End Action issue:

We don't know who it is. The character in question is never named. I mean, high likelihood its just a one-off character, but all the same she's not once referred to by any name.

Yep, we don't know who it is yet. Maybe is her, maybe not...
