Default Sachiel (Evangelion) vs Tukayyid (Battletech)

The war of Tukayyid is just starting when Sachiel appears out of nowhere. Clanner and Comstar forces immediately stop fighting to deal with this ****. All military force that was ever brought to Tukayyid will be available plus anything else they can potentially get there. Can they take down an angel?

Feats for Tukayyid? Approximate military strength? I'm familiar with Eva stuff but totally ignorant of the other side.

So first of all on mechs:

The history of the Inner Sphere (the majority of human occupied space in the galaxy) basically goes: We had lots of wars over hundreds and hundreds of years and built massive warship fleets that could effectively mass nuclear bombard planets. This led to a lot of planets getting glassed in wars and no one really getting anything out of it. A bunch of stuff happened and war got regulated and warships fell out of fashion for ground campaigns. Then they invented a material that could mimic muscle fibers and a nervous system and leveraged that into making heavily armoured ~12 meter tall mechs piloted by a neural interface. These mechs are more like big walking all terrain weapons platforms than something like gundams. Though still pretty fast, just not what you'd call agile compared to some kinds of mecha. The first test mech in its first trial pretty much made sport of a bunch of tanks to such an extent that it more or less immediately changed the shape of ground-based warfare. Mech technology developed pretty far with armour reaching a point where they could (sometimes) survive nuclear bombardments, and then there was a massive galaxy spanning war, and at the end of it, the supreme general of the Star League Defense Force, the biggest and most advanced military, took all his stuff and left for parts unknown so that the killing could stop. It did not in any way stop, it just lost some gravitas.

So the guys maintaining the interstellar comms network still had SLDF tech and became an organization called Comstar, meaning the most advanced military around, with tech no one else had access to, was being operated by the phone company. Meanwhile, the military that exodused settled some planets and got kind of weird. They separated into "clans," generally became sort of military socialists (sort of. Clans can vary pretty wildly, and they all instituted a strict caste system. Also I suspect there's some red fear inherent in how they're presented), and became a sort of warrior culture that reduced open warfare to sort of planned honour duels (where "duel" can mean a full scale military encounter here, but the point is that instead of stomping over a city, clanners will go "come and fight me in this desert, Vegeta"). They also heavily bio-edited their warrior caste. Meanwhile the Inner Sphere kept practicing the same old hardcore warfare.

Since they had a really strong tech base and weren't practicing world ending wars, clan tech got really good, so when they came back to the Inner Sphere shouting about Batchalls (battle challenge. yes) and honour and sort of kicking everyone's ass with mechs way beyond anything anyone was making even at the height of Star League, no one really knew what to do. Except the phone company. Comstar issued the entire Clan machine a Batchall to fight on a planet called Tukayyid. Being at near parity in tech, and with a mindset of fighting a war instead of fighting battles, they exploited clanner honour and threw tons and tons of resources and people and nukes at the problem until they dealt the clans a humiliating defeat and honour bound them to stop their advance.

Anyway, SLDF mechs have, as I said, been known to hold out through nuclear bombardments and keep fighting (that's "have been known to" though, not "they regularly shrug off nukes"). Setting material says all sorts of stuff about how strong their weapons are, but it seems likely that the people doing the writing didn't know what a kiloton is. At any rate, their armour is good enough that surviving nuclear bombardment is on the table at all, and they have weapons that can penetrate it. Canon is spread out between books, game systems, and videogames here, and I've only played the games, personally, but to give an example of firepower: The smallest weapons they carry are generally still fully capable of levelling large military buildings with a couple bursts, and those are only barely worth using against a heavy mech. A mech sized gauss rifle or PPC (lazor), on the other hand, can straight up core a mech.

Personally, I think with Sachiel being relatively weak, as angels go, to where we know it can be wounded by a nuke, and with us having seen later angels (the twin ones) at least temporarily disabled by heavy N2 bombardment, I think the forces on Tukayyid have enough military resources present to pull out a win if they do something like use Comstar's strategic weapons as an opening tactic to give their mechs, particularly clan omnimechs, a chance to move in and directly go after its core.

Second of all: I pretty much forgot what else I was going to say. I've watched like thirteen hours of battletech lore videos recently okay?

There are also aerospace fighters, dropships, and artillery, which is on or above the level of battlemechs in terms of weapon power.

Yeah, the Clans and Comstar brought pretty much the full weight of their respective militaries to Tukayyid. Or at least limited only by how much they bid themselves down in the clanner case

Sachiel does not tank nukes. Sachiel gets wounded to the point of having to regenerate large portions of its body, including growing an entire new head, by an N2 mine (not technically a nuke, but that doesn't matter). It can *survive* a single nuke, but this absolutely harmed it.
