The Krakoans are EEEvil!
THEY MUST BE STOPPED!
This feels like a desperate attempt to capitalize on the Romance and Slice of Life genres that have been successful in manga and webcomics. I don’t mind something like this occasionally, but blending this type of genre with superheroes feels really off the mark. If your going to have romance in a hero book, then the heroism comes first; that’s what the readers came for and romance is part of the journey.
Marvel should experiment in releasing romance comics again rather than trying to use big name characters to draw in a whole different type of reader.
I've been wondering what happened to Sean McKeever, I thought he had left comics.
Jean Grey in the words of Walt Whitman, from his masterpiece Leaves of Grass, "Song of Myself" (51 and 52):
"Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)"
"Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged, Missing me one place search another, I stop somewhere waiting for you."
I guess this message is partly addressed to me since I was the only one who said I wouldn't read it.
First, I don't "hate" Wolverine, he's a cool character, I hate the fact that during this era, they try to make us believe that Jean is his greatest love, which is why I don't want to read this story.
Second, when I read the title of the book, I knew Jean (who is one of my top 3 Xmen characters) would be involved. No more than that.
I wasn't addressing any person in particular. It's just when I read through the thread and see all the whining about "oh another Wolverine story" pile up, I just felt the need to reply. Funny thing is, I bet all those claiming they're not gonna read it will(probably on one of those pirate sites) and still come here to complain how much they hate it. As a fan of Wolverine, I'm not too fond of the Logan/Jean thing either. I prefer things how they were in the 90s as Logan moved on and they were just close friends. The letter Logan wrote to Cyclops and Jean should've been the end of it.
Oh yeah, I guess Daken's mom makes more sense than Yukio. I keep forgetting about her.
I dunno I think there's a good deal of romance in Superhero comics and there are some romance comics that mix in Superheroics but are still romance comics so I don't think it's too out of left field.
One of Sean McKeever's biggest Marvel books was the Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane series.
