Probably for the best, it wouldn't be the same without George Pérez

I think people need to let go of the fantasy that people wear suits to everything.

    Just started reading this one:

It's pretty good so far. We will see how it holds up.

It WAS extremely mind-blowing when it was realeased, and, IMHO, it is still an AWSOME book.

Arguably, IMHO, one of JLGL best works ever.

    Peace

Haven't read it in quite a while, but I found it a bit uneven at the time.

    Peace

Nothing compares to the excitement of CoIE when it first came out and it being the original “event.”

For my money and enjoyment, Blackest Night ranks pretty high as being a well-crafted event. John’s’ build up to the event in his Rebirth of Green Lantern/Hal Jordan felt epic in scope and the time it took to arrive to BN. It really reset and added to the GL mythos and reclaimed and reinvented a past GL villain.

Outside the GL mythos, it worked really well in-universe and metatextually. All superheroes have dealt with death or death and resurrection at some point, so the plot really served each character in an individualized way for the different stories we received where they had to confront the death(s) of someone they loved or had unfinished business with.

I really cared about what was unfolding in BN and I haven’t been that into an event in a long time.

I do love a good alternate/reimagined universe story though… Some parts of Flashpoint were brilliant, but a lot of parts fell flat. It was an inconsistent event for me.

Crisis on Infinite Earths, followed (closely) by Flashpoint, and then Blackest Night. IMHO.

From the original post (in June of 2022):

It seems almost every DC event has it's detractors so I'm curious which ones people enjoy the most.

I've limited this to cross overs that spill over into the wider DCU and not events that are limited to just the character's titles. Sinestro Corps War was really just a GL event if it drew in characters from the wider DCU but Blackest Night really spilled over into the entire DCU so it does count as a DCU event.

    Batman/TMNT film was awesome.

Comics wise, usually good with Scooby-Doo.
