Personally I would like to see Peter date a different girl for a time but a serious relationship, where he even shares some of his secrets, telling her he is Spider-Man and spending time telling her about his life, and people he has lost.

Maybe doesn't ends up with her, but being like a nice short relationship, where probably she remains a close friend for him later on when they break up.
