I just find it ridiculous that anyone would allow themselves to drool over a collectable comic book and destroy its resale value. That's insanity.

Yeah, the pure glowing green eyes work when's in battle mode. I also like the show changing her starbolts green to match the eyes.

Donna Troy, on the other hand, has had greater artists who made her look very beautiful. But she's still just a drawing.

I didn't think it was a great idea to make Starfire a model and Donna her fashion photographer. Those seem like the common place jobs that are always given to female characters. Maybe they deserved better.
Models maybe. But photography was rarely a job given to female characters, fashion or no.

And there weren't a lot of fashion models in superhero books anyway.

Kids generally don't think about resale value man lol.

Yeah, female characters were more likely to be reporters, Lois Lane ripoffs and all lol.

And usually when they want to differentiate from Lois they give said female character a camera. Iris, Linda and Vicky Vale have all been seen with a camera. That or they're made a news anchor (again, Linda Park).

But Donna is different. She is a super hero herself and her job isn't taking photographs of the latest breaking news, it's more modeling, photoshoots and that kind of stuff. Instead of a job that makes it easy for a character to be in the middle of a crisis, it's one that she uses to have a sense of normalcy in her life.

The elephant in the room with the Wolfman Perez New Teen Titans is secret identities.

Now, I doubt Vic, Gar, or Kory cared if people knew their other identities. And Donna looked the same whether dressed as Wonder Girl or in regular clothes.

But Dick and Wally's identities affected Batman and Flash. If these two were going to socialize with the others in their civilian identities, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that they're Robin and Kid Flash. The next step is making the Bruce / Batman and Barry / Flash connections.

Wait? Everyone should know that Bruce is Batman and Barry is Flash, they don't wear glasses. You need to wear glasses to have a secret identity!

There was a period in THE NEW TEEN TITANS where Dick Grayson was just Dick Grayson--he wasn't Robin anymore and he wasn't yet Nightwing. Wally quit the team early on. Roy wasn't featured much during the Wolfman/Perez run. Nor was Garth. And most of them didn't have jobs to speak of. I believe Gar Logan was independently wealthy--well, Steve Dayton was, although Mento had a tendency to go nuts.

Dick and I'm going to say Roy could have talk to gar or hung out in public with him and the rest of the titans by extension because they're billionaire kids who ran in the same circle and they all became friends that way.

As a black kid living outside USA, Cyborg's speech never bothered me since I just accepted that black people in other countries just had different slang to my local one.

As for the female costumes, I'm surprised the cartoon got away with Starfire's and Raven's costumes since most superheroines were covered up at that time.

Kory would wear glasses or visors when she'd go out with Dick. I can't remember when they abandoned that but the hair gives it away anyway (they made it seem as if her skin just made her stand out rather than a tell for her being an alien).

Off the top of my head, I can't remember Dick hanging out with anyone other than Donna and Kory out of costume in public. But, it probably happened I'm sure. They would hang out at apartments sometimes or the Tower but Dick was rarely around them in public.

Wally left what feels fairly early in the grand scheme of things. I can only remember him around Raven early on but the then-newbies weren't big public names. And, I can't remember if the general public knew what Raven looked like without the hood, as much as she took it off.

Honestly playing around with Dick being the ward to a billionaire, sometimes-playboy Bruce Wayne would be an interesting angle to allow him to be closer to his superhero friends in public. Just a rich kid dating an alien apart of a popular superhero group.

This actually makes me remember how much I loved how NTT tackled superheroes and public perception. Even in modern times, I feel like we don't see many people tackle superheroes and the large presence they'd have in the media (or social media).

That was something of the NTT that held up pretty well. The whole thing with Brother Blood and his church was also a good look at the spreading of cults and misinformation.

Yeah. I remember an issue when the Titans went on an interview in the Bethany Snow Show, and that was when Dick had given up being Robin and before Nightwing, and Dick, not having a "super-hero identity" didn't participate. He actually says he can't put Batman secret ID in jeopardy by appearing in the talk show while, having just left the studio, he is walking down the street in broad daylight, surrounded by Kory, Vic, Donna, Raven and Gar. It really challenged the ol' suspension of belief. He did that many other times.

    Peace

I remember one comic where Dick wore various disguises when he visited Kory.
