In a recent Cover Contest thread, there was this entry:

So, why not give him his own Appreciation Thread!

First appearance: Secret Origins #46 (December 1989).

    And that was it.

He got rebooted with the name "Splitter" at some point, but nothing compares to the OG silliest name ever - he's forever famous for that name!

I love that a random throwaway character from a Secret Origins story (written by Gerard Jones of all people) has had such a lasting presence.

T.D.K./Nathan Fillion is inspired by AFOB. Kind of being in one of the best DC movies ever makes him a superstar among Legionaires.

Nothing about the Legion itself draws my interest. But Arm Fall Off Boy and the 'Substitute Legion' always has me intrigued.

Really, is this "power" any less useful than, say, Bouncing Boy's? And it would be great if the severed arm had powers of its own, so that he could throw his arm at someone and make it strangle them.

Meh, he's got nothing on Stone Boy.

    Stone Boy has mobility.

You just have to pick him up on a third floor apartment window, and drop him on the supervillain.

Eh, that's kind of like arguing that the Fantastic Four were kind of in the best superhero movie via The Incredibles.

IIRC, he eventually figured out how to move in stone form. But really, he didn't even need to. If they had given him Legion membership, he presumably would have been able to move around fine by mentally controlling his Legion flight ring.

It appears you are correct, https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Dag_Wentim_(Pre-Zero_Hour)

Bah! If it's true though. I like my Stone Boy to be totally immobile.....they'll need to retcon that during the next DC reboot.

I am pretty sure he was finally defeated and killed by his arch-nemesis, Chisel-Man...
