As the new X-Men series artist? He's already in the x-stable. Where's Pepe Larraz going to go?

Is this confirmed? I'm drooling already, Cassara is absolutely fantastic and a worthy successor to Pepe.

I adore his art. Let’s see if his art also relates to a new direction and over-all tone for season 2 of X-Men.

I signed on just to reply to this thread. I fell in love with his work during X Lives/X Deaths. Yes, please.

Previewsworld is indeed listing Cassara for September's X-Men 15 instead of the previously announced C.F. Villa: https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/JUL220831

I also really liked Villa's art when he filled in for Larraz, and realistically Cassara won't be drawing 12 issues a year, so I assume Villa will still be in the mix.

I'd prefer Villa too, Cassara is good ,but doesn't fit the flagship for me. Would be cool if they alternate.

I’ve enjoyed his work on X-Force a lot prior to XL/DoW too. This is good news as far as I’m concerned. Just hope the new cast of X-men is one that I actually want to read about.

I really hope it's only for 1 issue. His art doesn't fit a "superhero" book like X-Men. it's better for gritty books like X-Force or Wolverine

Cassara hasn't done a book since X Lives of Wolverine. I think it will be interesting to see his art in a more heroic type book than X-Force. And his work is phenomenal, he deserves the spotlight.

Pepe is such a star that is a miracle he stayed in a monthly book for more than an arc. Duggan said in a podcast with Gillen last week, that Hickman sugested to Marvel that Pepe stayed on X-men. Cebulski and the other big names accepted, but probably because Hickman is very respected there. Larraz will probably work in events or other big new books now.

his art is great. very stunning and beautiful, but I personally don't like it for a book like X-Men. I feel books like that need more of....i don't know how to word it but...maybe cartoonish is the word? not cartoonish like in Marauders right now, but something "pretty" and light and explosive. I don't think Cassara's style fits a high octane super hero book with lots of flashy powers being thrown around. Cassara can definitely do action don't get me wrong, but a different type. More street fights, bloody and melee combat...gunshots and stuff. But i don't really know his art style would fit with X-Men. The 2 stand-ins for Pepe during X-men (javier pina and CF villa do a good job also. their style fits with the book) Like I can't imagine Cassara doing the art for some of the stuff we see in X-Men (example below)

maybe we are lucky and the next season of Duggan's X-Men will make sure to correspond his writing with Cassara's art and won't simply be a "superhero" book but a little more...

I agree with every point here, I truly think this book is going to suffer slightly because I do not think Cassara's art will play to the strengths of Duggan's writing. What made year 1 succeed imo is the fact that Larraz exceled at making even the most minimal plot point in X-men shine. I'll give it a shot but my excitement for this series has plummeted.

Still unknown but he posted a nice message on IG when #12 came out saying "thank you."

Though I prefer Larraz I'm looking forward to Cassara's vibe for the title.
