Post What's the difference between Eternals, Inhumans and Mutants

Someone from the reddit is completely upset that MCU totally ignore the existence of Inhumans especially when the show Ms. Marvel didn't bought up the race of origins. Beside of that, Eternals seem to play an upcoming role in the "AXE Judgement Day". But there is one thing I would like to know is where the difference between these three species and races. I am pretty the feud between Mutants and Inhumans during 2013-2017 was in jeopardy when Marvel doesn't have the full right of X-Men movies. Therefore, Marvel decided to replace Inhumans as the main race for the storyline in the Marvel Universe. But once Marvel has the full right back, they completely butchered the whole franchise of Inhumans until it no longer exists in the universe anymore except for Ms. Marvel.

Along Eternals, but that depend the outcome of the story.

Just what's the difference between these races and abilities?

Mutants are people who, spontaneously or through inheritance, have an X-Gene that grants them powers. Their powers usually activate on their own. Flukes that have the ability to have kids that will likely also be flukes.

Inhumans and Nuhumans (dw about it) are people who inherit their powers from their lineage. If you have an Inhuman ancestor, there's a possibility you can have latent Inhuman-ness in you. Their powers are usually activated by being exposed to Terrigen Mist, and undergoing a process called Terrigenesis. They originate from the Kree, who genetically engineered them from other races. Unlike most mutants, they treat Hellion well.

They also have very different cultures and histories, but that's just the basics.

Mutants have a gene called the X-gene that gives them powers at puberty - these powers can be anything from small to large, can include aesthetic differences, etc. The gene has had different origins over time but is likely natural. Mutants are likely to give birth to mutants, but two mutants can have a human baby, two humans can have a mutant baby, and so on. Other (alien) species also have mutants with similar genes.

Inhumans are a specific race of people whose ancestors were experimented on by the alien Kree, who are looking to evolve their own bloodlines. However, the Inhuman experiment largely failed to do what the Kree wanted. Instead, it gave Inhumans abilities that can be unlocked through exposure to the Terrigen Mists, a substance that comes from special crystals called Terrigen Crystals. For a long time, the Inhumans were presented as just one race of people who all lived together in a city. However, in 2012ish, it was revealed that there were secret inhuman tribes descended from the originals across the world. Many of those Inhumans had descendants living among normal humans as well. A bomb with Terrigen gas created a cloud that traveled the world. If someone with enough Inhuman DNA came into contact with it they would get powers. However, the cloud was destroyed and many Inhumans died off.

Eternals are a race created by the Celestials to monitor and protect Earth from Deviants. There are only 100 of them and they don’t reproduce.

Rift did a great job explaining the first two races. So, I'll pick up with the third.

The Eternals are a race of beings created by the Celestials (giant space gods) and put on Earth in order to help Shepard Earth's growth and wellbeing by deterring excess deviation which might otherwise change the course of the planet. They're usually seen as the 'real life' inspiration for many off the world's religions and myths. They have their own society, customs, laws, and various power sets (though they all share basic powers). As the name would suggest, they are incapable of remaining dead.

Their feelings on Hellion are currently unknown.

It's not far away when we see that Marvel will deplete Eternals out of existence as well after this event. I wouldn't mind that much because I haven't read them aside from Gillen's run but it was a crime with respect to what Marvel/MCU did to Inhumans :|

TLDR They're all experiments from the First host, performed by the celestials. They don't really have abilities that are unique to each group, just the same set of random abilities that all super people have.

The Celestials came to Earth to perform some experiments. These are known as hosts. There are four hosts and during the first host the Celestials created the Eternals/Deviants from humanity. After the first host the Kree came along and "discovered" humanities genetic potential and thought they would also try their hand at genetic engineering. From those experiments, out popped the Inhumans. Mutants are the result of human natural mutation, celestial genome tampering and Inhuman/Human relations cooked in an evolution oven.

Wasn't it once established that all humans in Marvel comics have a natural potential for super powers and they are just normaly lacking the "power source" or "catalyst" to activate and maintain them? With the X-gene essentialy being a natural occuring version of said catalyst/power source, but not having been genetic dominant enough to frequently manifest until the nuclear radiation of the atomic bombs?

Hence why humans in general seem oddly suited to gain super powers from all kinds of external sources, including some that are normal deadly to them.

Or was that just an alternate universe story and i confuse it with mainline continuity?
