Not much is known about this but judging by the title, it's presumably a prequel to the popular Playstation series, which deals with a post-apocalyptic future where man has kind of reverted to a sort of early bronze age civilization, but most non-game wildlife has been, for some reason, replaced by giant robot animals that are becoming increasingly hostile, and in the game you play the warrior Aloy, who is the literal key to what really happened in the past and how to save the future-and how it all ties with Zero Dawn, a terraforming project.
Presumably the prequel might deal with the Faro plague, the apocalyptic events in the past involving war robots that turn out to be *too* efficient and things start to go bad fast (Not exactly a Matrix or Terminator situation involving sentient AI, it's more of a programming glitch gone horrifically wrong). The series might focus on Elisabeth Sobeck, Aloy's "mother" and a major player in past events. I'm guessing they'll cast someone new (Sobeck's look in the game, along with Aloy's, is pretty much a composite of model/actress Hannah Hoekstra and voice actress Ashley Burch, but aged up). However, Carrie Ann Moss plays a contemporary/colleague of Sobeck in the second game, and the game model resembles her closely enough that maybe she can join the cast.
