One thing that bothers me is the relative darkness of the suit. In night scenes it is hard to make it out at times. Or in indoor scenes. It may be the DVD I purchased is defective, but sharpness and clarity is not there generally and in the aforementioned Superman scenes. I have to adjust the setting on the DVD to improve the visual quality, but it still leaves room for improvement.

BTW, agree with collar sitting too high. Check out the Gerard Christhoper avatar and note how much lower his colar is.

I love Tyler and Bitsie in the roles, I want them to continue for years to come...but I also want new people whenever a new movie comes along.
i think old school star trek is the only example i can think of this being done (wrath of khan etc). And that was a very long time ago. Though i think Hoechlin and Tulloch are my favorite adaptations of Clark and Lois. And would totally love to see them get a movie. This isn't really a thing that happens, and not any modern precedent to suggest it'd be successful. I'd say the same with recasting Miller with Gustin.... but given the extreme circumstances, maybe it'd be worth a try (they won't). But in the hypothetical never gonna happen future where they did and were somehow successful?!?, then sure, absolutely make Tyler Hoechlin the big screen Superman. He's perfect as both Clark and Superman.

Yeah, the darkness of the suit is definitely a thing, too. Honestly, it might not be the darkness per se, but the muted-ness of the color that's there. Like, if you turned up the saturation on the blue by.... say... 50%, it might actually be ok:

Interesting on the DVD - I'll have to get out my Blu-Ray and see how that looks (since TV is now above DVD quality, DVDs may lack some color subtlety).

And absolutely on Gerard's suit. That's a fantastic look.

Isn't Tyler and Bitsie more or less inspired by Reeves and Kidder?

At least partially, but it certainly seems like more of a mix than when they were on "Supergirl". Either way, both are giving (imo) much more natural performances now. The difference is striking.

Just posted the latest All Star Superfan podcast on the Superboy/Gerard Christopher/Stacy Haiduk Appreciation thread where they feature the Superboy TV series with Sam Rizzo and a special guest. They talk about the Superboy suit and how they improved the suit season to season. The group on the podcast are not fans of the Superman and Lois suit - go figure!

Interesting. Just discovered Sam's site. Good stuff. His site says GC will appear at GalazyCon late this month - on a Q&A panel. Hope someone asks him about Superman and Lois. Has he seen it and, if so, what does he think of it?

That would be pretty cool! And yeah, Sam did two discussion panels on one of my Instagram accounts (@jaklife_official) about Superman and Lois last season, and we're planning to to another one sometime this summer. The account has had to take a back seat with other things going on, but hoping to get back on it soon.

Well, probably better writers and given more screentime to have more fleshed out characters.

Oh, definitely. Perhaps better direction, as well. It's amazing how much of a difference every piece of the puzzle can make. Plus, they're not actively trying to undermine Superman so he doesn't overshadow a "main" character, since he now is one.

I'm more: Maybe shave but definitely wear a bright blue and bright red suit, not that one that looks like it laid in a closet for ten years with dust settling on it.

I think what really makes the Hoechlin/ Tulloch combo stand out as so great is the feeling that the relationship has progressed onward into new territory instead of rehashing the same scenario over and over for a new era. They've gotten married, had children who are now teenagers, etc.
    Power with Girl is better.
