Default Ghost Rider: The Road to Damnation -- question

Does The Road to Damnation take place in 616? I know it doesn't matter much, I'm just curious.

I believe it was published during the period when the Marvel Knights imprint was being used for projects that were sort of in a continuity gray area. Not really in, but not technically out.

I think the Rider ended up escaping Hell right before the whole killing of pieces of the devil thing. (The 'Devil' grabbed ahold of him as he escaped and was torn to bits by the process but ended up in the mortal world, and each incarnation was killed the remaining ones got stronger.)

I consider it to be, but it wouldn't matter either way. He began that story in hell and he ended it still in hell, so it's easily placed just before Vicious Cycle.

Thanks guys! Btw, is it a good read? I just assumed "by Garth Ennis" was quality assurance in-and-of itself. Should've asked that first I guess...
