Sigh it is easy to sympathize with a Meggan here. Did Remy die just to fulfill the sacrifice part while simultaneously betting he could be revived? I am not against the betting part of it. Or taking a hit for friends. One could argue very well though that he is not in the company of friends. Meggan might be the exception so far.

And no Rogue would not focus on the mission. She would go beserk. Perhaps if she was more personally invested in the mission and it was less prophecy vague. But not in the way that Gambit was invested enough to die or risk whatever he might be doing. Because we never took the time to establish and show us why Gambit was this invested. It never connected with us and in turn made us invested. This comic still reads more like a first draft or a plot map.

It’s so inconsistent. Meggan is angry with them leaving Gambit so they tell her she is wrong while doing what she wanted in the first place, witch is to carry Gambit with them.

Exactly. Rogue literally chased Gambit to the gates of Heaven to bring him back. There's no way she would just "focus on the mission"

Betsy needs some love after this run. I get that she can be on the more emotionally detached side of things but I wouldn’t even follow her into a supermarket to buy a chocolate bar. Much less into war.

Normally I’m not a huge fan of character dynamics that come out of nowhere, but I’m actually digging Meghan’s softness towards Gambit in earlier issues and subsequent reaction here. It’s a good showing for her empathy and you can tell she was done with the bullshit. Betsy should be feeling at least a lil guilt cause she dragged their asses here and came up with these goofy ass plans.
