    Question Favorite looking animated films?

List a animated film and or short film that you consider to be your favorite looking.

Little Nemo Adventures in Slumberland 1989

I mainly love this film for the art direction from how vivid the colors are, the design of the characters in it and its dreamlike tone it could have been more closer to the 1905-1927 comic strips in terms of capturing the surreal tones but i still consider it to be a real beautiful film.

The Nemo 1984 Short Film is something that i consider to be easily best animated thing even with it being a short film it even surpasses the 1989 film in terms of animation as much as i like that version for the art direction

For Favorite U.S. Animated Films, these would be my two choices...

    Beauty and the Beast '91

    Transformers '86

Since Foreign Animated Films are allowed, these would be my two choices...

    Kiki's Delivery Service
    (魔女の宅急便)

    The Castle of Cagliostro
    (ルパン三世 カリオストロの城)

Akira. It’s old but that bike chase/fight through the streets of NeoTokyo still looks amazing.

It had a higher frame rate. That's why it looks smoother than most of its contemporaries around the same time. Not much out there has ever come close to matching it. Certainly none have ever surpassed it.

Superman (Fleischer/Famous)...which are really just my favorite media in all of Superman history, even trumping Superman's Golden and Silver Age comics.
Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

This was my first thought. Amazing that 1940's animation not only holds it's own but actually beats 80 years of animation development (IMNSHO)

Bambi, The Aristocats, The Fox and the Hound. There's nothing prettier than cute animals.
    Fantasia was also visually great.

Hopefully this counts, since a CBR Forum member announced that this will be released in theaters soon...

I agree that for technical and stylistic excellence, very few cartoons of any era equal the Flesicher Supermans.

I always liked Disney's "The Old Mill," which they made to show off their new multi-plane camera.
