Reading List (Super behind but reading them nonetheless):
DC: Currently figuring that out
Marvel: Read above
Image: Killadelphia, Nightmare Blog
Other: The Antagonist, Something is Killing the Children, Avatar: TLAB
Manga: My Hero Academia, MHA: Vigilanties, Soul Eater: the Perfect Edition, Berserk, Hunter X Hunter, Witch Hat Atelier, Kaiju No. 8
Do they? No.
Should they? Yes.
Doesn't mean EVERYthing has to tie in, but Supergirl was on TV for multiple seasons...very little tie in to the comic.
Legends on for 7 seasons...no title, minimal useage of any of the characters on the show that already existed in the comics.
No useage of White Canary ever doing those 7 years, even though she had been briefly introduced prior to the show in a Black Canary story.
Arrow: half-hearted intro of John Diggle and Felicity in maybe one story arc each and then never used again.
It's like they're not even trying and it's just not that hard.
DC only uses syngery when they want and to pick something from other DC media, like Harley and kryptonite.
To be FAIR most of Image and Boom's books have a set ending.
Someone reading say Image's Farmhands KNOWS that book is ending around issue 25.
So you know you are getting a complete run.
Now there are some books that never go beyond issue 6 (looking at YOU Image's Freeze).
While it's true DC can and SHOULD limit how many books they put out.
There is NOTHING that prevents them from picking a format for said books.
Do you really need a 6 issue Gold & Blue when 2 double size issues could tell the complete story?
Have a set of books that get two issues and is done and another takes it place.
