Default Eragon’ TV Series Adaptation in Development at Disney+

Disney+ is building its own little fantasy universes with Percy Jackson and now Eragon. At least now Disney can compete with Marvel and Star Wars shows

Oh, wow, I didn't think we'd ever get another Eragon adaption after the first movie!

And yet, they still won’t do anything notable with the Gargoyles.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?

I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP

Tried reading the first book once. Not sure it's exactly the best starting point for anything.
Doctor Strange: "You are the right person to replace Logan."
X-23: "I know there are people who disapprove... Guys on the Internet mainly."

I find it oddly amusing that a book that is so blatantly ripped straight from Star Wars is now being adapted by the same people who own Star Wars.

The book was a complete waste of time, not sure I have any interest in seeing an adaptation of it.

I haven't tried to read them, but aren't the Eragon books like... famously bad?

Though if the concept is solid, I suppose a talented writing and production team can get something worthwhile out of just about anything.

Yes, they're bad but they've a big following which is the reason why this has been greenlit for a new adaptation

Didn't they announce a new series?

It is Not even the first time Dragons are ripping off Star Wars. TSR Dragonlance novels were published in the 80s. DC did the comics Adaption. Yay, Dragonlance. BOO, eragon. Sorry rage typing on my Phone.

I remember liking those books as a teen but never finished the last one. I remember it doing the "war is hell" themes better than its inspirations so maybe they would lean into that angle more?

I'm just curious if this will have enough budget for the amount of screentime Saphira has.

I wonder how much they'll change the first books story so it is not the exact plot of Star Wars.

The budget for the show i'm sure is going to be high and since there is a house of dragons to compare to i'm hopeful they will want to at least not look shoddy with their cgi
