Default Seth Rogen says AMC's "Preacher" Will Deviate From the Comic

Much like "The Walking Dead," AMC's adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's "Preacher" will make some departures from the source material.

Yeah, was anyone actually expecting it was gonna go unaltered to make it onto basic cable?

He is telling us things that..do not need to be said. Breaking news, tomorrow Seth Rogen tells us the sun will rise and the sky is blue! We also find out props in movies sometimes aren't real. Like a scene with someone drinking alcohol? In reality, it's usually not alcohol. More astounding revelations next time, with Seth Rogen.

But isn't this expected? Most adaptations veer away from the source material. And I suspect given how risky Preacher was, they have to veer off anyway.

I'm shocked a basic cable show won't have the sex detectives or a man having sex with a gigantic meat manequin.

Lol, of course it will! AMC will never go far enough to have a fully faithful Preacher adaptation. I think even HBO would hesitate.

I guess with Mad Men only having one season left(well, cut into two parts) they are looking for more shows. Who knows, it could turn out to be great. Though something about Seth Rogen working on a project like this makes it feel..wrong. He certainly might still wind up surprising me.
