Asking this question of anyone who's seen all 8 episodes... and not wanting any specific spoilers, but... does this season cover the entire run of the comic?

I watched the first episode, and in 38 minutes it covers (in very truncated form) the entire first arc/TPB of the comic. At that rate it will all be done within 8 episodes. Is that the case?

No, it does not. There (hopefully) will be a season two.

Amazon opted not to renew it for a season two.

Absolute shame. The series was fantastic.

    **** Bezos, seriously, **** him.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

    *sigh*

It was an amazing show while it lasted. I loved every minute. There was not a single weak episode that lost my interest even briefly , unlike some other shows that Bezos reportedly loves.

First, they cancel American Gods, and now this. At least Upload and The Legend of Vox Machina each made the cut.

I heard it will find a new streaming service. Wasn't it CBR who wrote that it gets shopped?

That's a real shame, I'd say as far as comic book/nerd stuff that's come out lately (including Sandman, House of the Dragon, Rings of Power, etc.) it was my favorite new thing. All of the actresses were great, it didn't follow the comics 100% but it was definitely for the better, and it actually made me feel things despite knowing the story (at least the comic story). Would highly recommend, and pretty sad to hear this news. Also didn't know American Gods was canceled, so double the sadness.

They will try, but will they find? They can't have too long a hiatus or the girls will age out of the roles.

Very true, and they are all so good in their roles. What a waste. *sigh*

I hope they will find a new streaming service, too.

I want to see Mac doing that thing with her eyes again, and cursing like its 1999

Is this really the show discussion thread? I did an Advanced Search and it took 5 pages to find this thread.
Last month I read the whole PG comic series. Just this week I watched the show...in what appears to be its finality.
I don't suppose if it won any awards that could sway things?? Your main cast can't wait around after all.
I heard Amazon is not picking up a Season 2. Too bad, quite a cliffhanger.

The show as it is was entertaining. As an adaption it strayed in many places but was at least recognizable. Unlike some things that get adapted.

Now, the elements that are dropped/removed from this season I can see as possibly be folded in for later seasons(which aren't coming if that was the plan).
An element I liked not in the comic was of Mac's older brother Wally.
Older Tiffany was good. A non evil Erin clone was nice.

Overall I'd recommend this to anyone who likes sci-fi adventure.

Seldomly, that I like a show better than the comic book. This one was it. Mainly due to the characters.

I'm only 2 episodes in. Normally I wouldn't bother watching a show that's been cancelled with no closure, but I'm making an exception for this one.
