Default Voting for August Reading Club Selection

I've been interested in getting better comic book discussions, and was pleased to learn that others on this forum are as well. So far, we had a nice discussion of the first volume of Alan Moore's Swamp Thing.

You guys nominated some of your selections for August's reading club, so let's vote on it.

Anyone can join, even if you didn't participate in the Swamp Thing discussion.

    The nominees are...

The Adventures of Luther Arkwright by Bryan Talbot
Batmanga Vol. 1 by Jiro Kuwata
    “Battling Boy” Paul Pope
Hellboy: The Chained Coffin and Others by Mike Mignola
Kingdom Come by Mark Waid and Alex Ross
The Metabarons by Alejandro Jodorowsky and Juan Giménez
Miracle Man “A Dream of Flying” by Alan Moore and Gary Leach
The Kents by John Ostrander (with Tim Truman, Tom Mandrake and Michael Bair)
Stormwatch “Lightning Strikes” by Warren Ellis and Tom Raney
The Twelve (Marvel) by J. Michael Straczynski and Chris Weston
X-Force: New Beginnings by Peter Milligan and Mike Allred

You can choose up to three stories. Votes will be public.

The Miracleman and X-Force stories are the first TPBs in a relatively short run, so I think it would be valid for some people to just discuss the first TPB, and for others to discuss their thoughts on the larger run (for X-Force, it would just be those issues and not X-Statix.)

The poll ends in a week.

Thanks! I ended up voting for one off my nominations list just because it was so good.

    Edit:

I actually voted for 2 choices not on my original list:

    1. Metabarons
    2. X-Force New Beginnings (is this the original series or the recent book? I read the old one.)
    3. Miracle Man

    Hellboy
    BatManga
    The 12

    Are my runnerups.

I went with Batmanga, Hellboy and Kingdom Come but there isn't a bad choice there in the bunch.

Might have to go with some second choices to break ties

or close this poll, start a new one with only those choices that got 3 votes (i.e. the tied options) and give each voter only 1 vote. End the poll is 2-3 days, and see if there is a clear winner there.

I've gone ahead and done just that as there are now five tied selections! Vote here for (hopefully!) the reading selection for August!
