Peter might, and I think it's in character for him, view keeping an eye on him as his responsibility to Harry's memory, a Harry who just sacrificed him in the end of Spencer's oh so exalted run, for his dad after another version did the 'fixing' him in the first place. I don't think it's super hard to believe that Peter might try to roll with that. Responsibility and guilt are pretty much his defining characteristics. :P

But we're not getting into Peter's head on this because we're not being really made privvy to his thoughts in this run at all.
I think internal narration of him debating working with Norman or how feels about Norman would help this scene a lot.

    This run sucks so much.
I mean, attracted to women or not, Peter probably is still the love of her life.

I don't think we need to bring back that love triangle again either though.

If you like no-stakes Spidey with zero connective continuity, you can always check out his Saturday morning cartoons though.
Funny enough, that's almost an insult to Spider-Man's cartoons from the 90s onward to Spectacular, since they did tend to have continuity and character development for Spider-Man/Peter Parker, his supporting cast, and even his enemies.

She yes Tooms, your granddaughter wants nothing to do with you because you’re a murderer so more murder is the perfect solution to your situation.

It's like that TV Trope, "Murder Is The Best Solution," about characters who default to murder, whether suggested, threatened, or flat-out attempted or committed, as their solution to every dilemma they have.

Wow I’m surprised they’re finally following up on the plot point of Pete telling Tiana about Adrian, it been maybe 3 years or so since that story.

Felicia is probably the best bi character in comics right now. Former love of her life is trying to kill her and the current one is a mess.

Peter’s not trying to Kill her.

Read Iron Cat #1-2 for the former love of Felicia's life trying to kill her . . . and the current love of Felicia's life is Spider-Man/Peter Parker, who is indeed not trying to kill her, though sadly, he is an incredible mess right now.

Spoilers for ASM 7 start around 8:21. Don't click if you don't want fairly substantial spoilers.

    spoilers:
So apparently Peter does have second thoughts about Norman overall. "There is something going on with Mary Jane" but it's unclear if that is part of the reason why Peter rejects Norman as he thinks Norman is setting him up, or if the MJ stuff is separate. Peter doesn't see the Goblin-Spider suit Norman has for him. The Vulture takes him up high and drops him without webshooters. Next issue is "Funeral of Spider-Man."

More in-depth spoilers here starting around 50:43.

    spoilers:
He really liked it, best issue since #1.

Repeats that Peter is finally skeptical of Norman and having his sins cleansed.

While Peter takes his tour of Oscorp, we see Kamala Khan is interning there.

MJ is also at Oscorp, with Paul. It's awkward. They all still apparently talk like they are under NDAs and Zeb has his hand over their mouths and they only hint at what happened, but apparently we get a sense of who is more apologetic.

MJ is there to get Norman's opinion on the Krakoa drugs she's pushing. She is about to go to the Hellfire Gala.
