All around the best.
Maybe not healthy, but romances that changed the characters and their trajectories:
3. Bruce and Talia: so much of who the modern Batman is is because of her. Remove her from his love life and, well, the Nu 52 Earth 2 showcases how incompetent and milquetoast Bruce is without Talia in his life to expand his horizons and family. Although I didn't read it, it appears King's BatCat reaffirmed that a Batman who settled with Catwoman is a Batman without a whole host of family and allies. Bruce and Talia might not ever work out, but there's no question she made him a better person. Plus she once sold him LexCorp just to piss off and impress Lex Luthor. Let us not forget that their being into each other was so blatant that Jim Gordon once told Batman he completely believed that Batman murdered Talia in cold blood because of his frustrated romantic feelings. We have also been shown that Bruce is Talia's motivation for doing good even if she does go about it the wrong way. He, and Damian, are the two things that appear to keep her from going full on nihilist and actively destroying civilization.
4. Slade Wilson and Adaline Kane. Who is Slade without Adaline? Just a sociopathic veteran and homeless. She got him into the programs that made him who he is, she's the one who regularly gets him out of trouble and keeps him employed. It's telling that after Grant's death, when his relationship with Adaline crumbled Slade went and slept with a canonically teenage girl that looked and acts like Adaline (Morrison established Talia as being barely legal when Damian was conceived).
5. Roy Harper and Cheshire. Are they toxic? Yes. Are they better (relatively speaking) people because of their relationship? Also yes.
Honorable mentions:
Dick Grayson and Kor'iander. She was the college girlfriend who helped him into adulthood. Sure, Babs in the teenage love he keeps going back to, but Kor'I made him grow up on so many levels, and he helped her move beyond her trauma as well.
Ra's al Ghul and Sora. A couple who despite the era they lived in viewed each other as partners and equals. If only he'd listened to her about his best friend. Without him, she would have never found the Lazarus Pits. Without her, he would have faded away into history, just another unremarkable physician.
Black Canary and Green Arrow. They are a hot mess. The hottest of messes. When they're good they're the best. When they're bad and break up we get fantastic stories. They're what BatCat fans want us to believe Bruce and Selina are, except Dinah and Ollie have in universe shippers (and actual chemistry): the O-Sensei waited over a hundred and fifty years (longer now) to tell them that they are one of his OTPs and have been since the 1850s. (For the record, the same Fables story arc had him telling Bruce that he ships BruTalia but didn't think Bruce could make it work. I don't remember who his third OTP was.)
My 5 list for healthiest, most solid romances:
-- Ralph and Sue Dibney
-- Scott Free and Barda
-- Ayla Ranzz and Salu Digby
-- Jonathan and Martha Kent
-- Queen Projectra and Karate Kid
1. Lois and Clark
2. Dick and Babs
3. Beast Boy and Raven (doesn't get as much coverage, and it's largely fan-fuelled, but when it's official, it works)
4. Batman and Wonder Woman (DCAU)
5. Wally West and Linda Park
1.superman and lois
2. Batman and cat woman
3. Green arrow and black canary
4. Hawkman and which ever hawk girl/woman combination we’re going with this time.
5. Flash(Wally) and Linda
Although I do have to ask where is Barry and Iris sitting. Last I remember they were at least dating or did we just collectively marry them again and no one mention it.
Damn. No one said Billy Batson and Stargirl.
"Cable was right!"
could it be a bromance?
