Does DC have any ideas for Captain Atom that don't end with him blowing up?

    I love Mary's enthusiasm .

Now that I think about it, we don't often see Talia and Alfred together.

I enjoyed Deathstroke bickering with the other council members.
Enjoyable issue, but my two nitpicks:
    1. Art style is confusing and slightly distracting (Eg. It is hard to tell rushing water vs explosions vs energy blasts).
    2. In general, continually putting Batman on a pedestal while erasing Superman being the savior, is a trend in DC comics that I am not enjoying. I understand it, cause Batman brings in the bucks. But the fact that this writer needs to continually pat Batman on the back despite him not appearing at all, is a little annoying.

    This was really good!

Much better than the first issue. I'm always leery of spin off series because you never know what your going to get with a newbie writer.....but this was well written and fun.

Yeah, that feels a tad unnecessary.
