The Ritchson guy from the Reacher series would be good for this. Actually met Lee Majors at a Comicon awhile back nice guy.

And now I also want them to do an update version of the song with current actresses mentioned.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

It was a fun show with a very catchy theme song. I'm not quite sure how it would work without Lee Majors though. He had a certain down to earth swagger that made the character.

LOL. Yeah they should have Tom Cruise in the movie too as a joke. But I was more saying he should play the title char.

If you were not a child of the 80s I'm not surprised. It went 5 seasons and starred Lee Majors of the 70s hit show Six Million Dollar Man, which went more into mainstream Pop Culture Status. You might have heard of that even to this day.
Fall Guy was an also ran of male geared shows with high flashy(sometimes high tech) vehicles of the era: Dukes of Hazzard, A-Team, Knight Rider, Airwolf or Street Hawk

Unlike DoH, KR and A-Team which seem to find more rerun potential I haven't seen Fall Guy on any of those Nostalgia channel lineups like MeTV, Antennae TV or Retro TV.

I missed most of the 1980s in television, because I was moving around and didn't usually have a T.V. But I remember reading an interview with Lee Majors at that time where he said he liked his role in THE FALL GUY because he didn't have to hold in his gut. So I've always been curious to watch the show, to see if that was true--but I've just never gotten around to it.

I can see Cruise being added to the lyrics when they update the title song.

That's the first thing I thought of, the title song "The Unknown Stuntman", sung by Lee Majors, was very much a sign of the time given the name drops. They have to get Gosling to sing it and use modern day actor/actress name drops in the lyrics. Should be fun.

Heh. Probably. I was just watching one of those GQ youtube videos where they get people in a certain field to judge aspects of that field in movies, and when they got to the stunt motorcycle guy...sure enough he worked with Tom Cruise (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation).

Heck if Cruise wasn't busy with other stuff (apparently we're getting a Les Grossman spinoff, for instance) he probably would have lobbied to be the lead in this movie.

^^^That has GOT to be on somebody’s to-do list for this project. It’s too good not to be!

I did this reboot concept back in 2021, so I gotta freakin’ post it here…:

Disappointed they didn't use an updated version of the tv show theme Unknown Stuntman in the trailer instead of Bon Jovi.
