So like there's an Eddie on Meridus' side. Presuming thats not our Eddie then Meridus has manipulated a past version of Eddie who hasn't become Finnegan yet into fighting his son.

I just read the Venom issues where that Lee guy had the symbiote for a few issues.

Was he always meant to be temporary or did they bring back Eddie cuz Lee wasn't popular?

It's possible that Lee Price was a bait-and-switch all along, but I could see that happening, too.

Feel sad for Dylan in that me marvel crossover he and venom want Eddie to be prune of them so imagine seeing their reaction to bedlam being Eddie that it breaks his heart that his dad is trying to kill him not knowing it is a future Verizon of him

Ya know the drama between Eddie and Dylan is a good sign of how ugly parenthood is in Venom.

Like I really started thinking about this after Thor: Love and Thunder of spoilers:

Thor taking care of Gorr's daughter Love and the whole thing is portrayed in a very cutsey sweet manner, framing Thor as the cinnamon roll dad taking care of his adorable kid.

Meanwhile Eddie and Dylan's relationship is not cute. Eddie God help him he does love his son but he has no fucking idea how to take care of him. Which makes sense, the guy can barely take care of himself he can't raise a child. But he has to and try as he might he's doing a piss-poor job of it such as winding up neglecting Dylan cause he's too busy doing space stuff. And the result is Eddie and Dylan go through some horrible ****.

Whats prolly most emblematic of how much they struggle is their living situation. Compared to Thor where spoilers:

Thor and Love are living in this cozy spaceship full of spacious furniture and food amid various luxuries like Thor taking the time to put on her fuzzy bootzies

end of spoilers, Eddie and Dylan are straight up homeless. There are no luxuries for them to enjoy, they straight up have to asleep under a bridge and for most of the Cates run their only home was squatting in a safehouse own by a dead man.

Makes for a nice contrast. Not everything can be sparkles and rainbows after all, somethings are just ugly and hard.
