Sins of Sinister a new Crossover coming January 2023

I wasn't all that excited about this crossover before and now I'm even less interested. Of course it's no surprise who's idea it was and the whole thing feels more like an unnecessary detour. We already have good series that need the chance to actually tell their stories instead of having to pull over to indulge Gillen.

I am buying exactly zero of this. I like Gillen, but the X-Men should do things besides alternate reality/time-travel. Like decades of things besides alt reality/time-travel.

I do think it's nice that Gillen is the one doing the events now instead of getting derailed by them like he was earlier in his career. He used to be the guy that would fill in between "big name" writers(even though his work was often better) or have to tie-in to one of their events. It is cool seeing him be one of the showrunners. Unfortunately, this is not the event for me. I like Sinister, but I have ZERO interest in the "chimera" concept, so I will be sitting this one out. I really hope none of the chimeras make it into regular continuity. I am just not a fan of mash-up characters at all.

I have the same response to the interview. I want to like it, but I don't really feel the humor of those Gen X writers, I guess...it feels a little bit boy-club-goes-bonkers-after-some-drinks...

Yeah that's definitely been the energy for a while, felt it as well during that X-Men Monday milestone interview.

Sidenote: Ironfire's staff seems to be designed after Storm tiara, so potentially follow-up the whole "Storm System" thing.

Dark Web is the "kinda, sorta" extension of Well's work in Hellions. And yes this is how Marvel comes up with events.

Hellions also poured into X-Men/New Mutants/Dark Web (Maddie), Marauders (Jonlocke and Greycrow's restaurant), and Sabretooth & the Exiles (The Hellion crew joining up.) As for the other books, I can see

Legion of X: The Resurrection of Hellion
X-Terminators: Another tie to whatever vampire-lead event Marvel will start soon
Bishop: War College: Setting up future heroes to be involved in events?
X-Men Red: Emperor Hellion
