If it's only about different stuff then there wouldn't be such complaining. Also this is almost similar to how Hickman left with simultaneous events happening left and right so there is definitely a worry.

I had a funny feeling we'd hear something today. Well alright, let's get to it!

I'd like to see heart and spade Sinister and hopefully by the end of this, he's off the Quiet Council and shattered into a million pieces. Very intriguing though.

I'm hoping we get the public execution that was mentioned in the HOX/POX data pages.

The heart one should be referred to as Care Bear Sinister.

different as in Sinister betraying people and causing problems; wow, how very different...

at least with fighting sentinels there was something to root for, what is being fought for now?

mutant survival, well that's not an issue anymore

mutant acceptance, well they have their own society now

mutant expansion, well they have their own planet

so why not focus on something other than jockeying for power.. for reasons?

Yes. The least sinful of the Sinisters.

It's just one book. If Immortal isn't for you, leave it be.

Hardly any surprises here, we're still firmly in Jonathan Hickman's era and a confrontation with Sinister and eventually the machines are all still following the map laid out in HOX/POX.

It makes sense for S.O.S. to be a crossover as Sinister has been planning and scheming across multiple X-books, although I would assume Gerry Duggan will be taking the reins on this (like writing the inevitable Alpha and Omega issues, etc) rather than Kieron Gillen, so the latter can catch a break after writing a million books over the Summer (not that I'm complaining, but the poor lad must be exhausted). I also wouldn't be surprised if this was Duggan's swansong on the X-books as he mentioned before he probably wouldn't stick around for a third year on X-Men.

No, every single book has to be exactly like the X-men always were, with no exceptions. Let's cancel X-men Red while we're at it, mutants have to stay on Earth.

If Duggan's leaving, I struggle to understand why he took over the book in the first place.

Seeing Jean next to Sinister feels really horrible. Can we please get a team-up with Madelyne and both make sure Sinister will never hurt another human being ever again?!

This is the story where we get the new Omega time traveling mutant Nathaniel Essex Jr. and his middle name will be "Grey".

so a few things wonder who will be the lead writer on this probably looking at duggan...hope fully this lead to the return oft he real evil sinster from his heyday this new gillen clown version of sinister with the capes and jokes is just not funny anymore an really never was really cant believe may people like this goofball version

i like duggan and have enjoyed pretty much everything hes written and ill say his first 13 issues of x-men have been is weakest work on any title
one of the rumors floating at the recent san diego comci con was marvel was looking for a very high profile writer to join the x-group....dont know if it was whedon type or a more major comic book centered writer and dont know if it for the main x-men book or a new higher profile x-men book a al astonshing x-men but quite a few people were talking.

also in regards to crossovers ibe heard we will be getting a few more than usual in 2023 across the entire marvel line just have to bear with it. Judgment day while well wriiten and drawn has been very very soft on sales as was expected due to the eternals having zero buzz after there movie fizzled out . also due to the shipping delays and supply chain issues when marvel had to resolit a bunch of books they have to make up those numbers to keep the disney overlords happy and love them or hate them crossovers make the numbers tick up on all the books involved.

Bearing in mind that Duggan leaving is entirely speculation on my part... It's not uncommon for writers to stick with a book for a couple of years now and then move on. In addition to X-Men, Duggan also wrote Marauders and Cable, I think it would be a respectable body of X-work overall.
