It'll be interesting to see if this issue sticks to the disaster of the week format or delves into "judging" the new X-Men recruits.

I guess it's right after Judgment Day #3. Right after the events of yesterday's comic, it's not like Scott and Magik have much to do other than save Earth from other threats.

    The first year, yes.

The only detraction I have so far for year two and the one issue we've gotten is that it's part of a (imo) forgettable, uninspiring event.

Well, it's not as if they can allow the aliens to destroy Earth, don't they? But I bet the Zombie Celestial will stop the flare... it still hasn't decided if Earth must be destroyed, so it won't let somebody else do it...

    These zany X-Men.

So how do we think the rest of the team will handle the incoming flare? Will Forge be sipping a Mai Tai?

Now that Destiny is alive again and on the Council she's the convenient plot device to explain the X-Men taking time out in the middle of Judgement Day for this. One vision, a telepathic call to Jean, and everyone knows there's a need to stop some aliens from blowing up the sun.

I would say mostly disaster of the week with a sprinkle of Cyclops being judged on the side.

You'd think Orchis and their Sentinels would have some opposition to someone trying to destroy Earth via the sun since they're orbiting it.

It is amusing to me that the faux Celestial is all "I'm the judge, you have 24 hours" but aliens might blow up the Earth before that passes.

I do love seeing Scott and Yana working together. The rapport they picked up under Bendis was one of the high points of his run.

    I agree so much.
My favorite dynamic duo since the Bendis era.

Co-signed. Very happy to see them on a team together again.

The art looks really good here. And I love the facial expressions.

I miss his red costume. I don't care if the X on his face doesn't make sense, it was cool as hell.

Those are the only Scott costumes I like.
