Surge has suffered the misfortune of being the character that some writers have used to prop other characters up, i.e. being rude to Laura and Jubilee, but I don't think that's really true to the character. Just throwing that out there.

You know, if she was ever actually being used anywhere.

That's the problem with trying to establish this list; very few of the student characters have managed to stay in the spotlight long enough to even be considered. You have X-23, but most of the rest rotate in and out of limbo as a new writer comes along with HIS pet class. I don't know that enough of the 2000s - 2010s students have remained prominent enough to draw a "Top 4" from them.

Pretty much this. She's really the only new X-Woman that can qualify as a Top Anything from the past decade. Everyone else has pretty much been treated as Flavor Of The Month.

You aren't quoting anyone but I feel your response was kinda directed at me.
First I have to say that I didn't know I even posted in this thread almost one and a half years ago and I was surprised myself when I read my post. I actually don't think of her as strong as it reads in my post but I do think that Surge being an ass sometimes is part of her character. Just like it is with Hellion.

Also despite having posted in this thread I have to ask if OP can clarify what exactly is meant with "Queen of the B-sides"?
