In fact, I'm hearing words like "masterpiece" being used to describe it.

Since it cost a billion dollars or something, it should be a masterpiece.
Very encouraging news! I'd already decided to watch the whole thing no matter what. They could have shown orcs running around in bikinis and elves sitting in trees making Keebler cookies and I still would have watched it, though.

From what I understand is that they only have the rights from what is in the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings so they went with the appendix and try and create an completely new story in the Tolkien world.

Even if it’s crap I’m still going to watch it because I have already re-watched both trilogies.

It looks really good. The money looks well spent at least.

That is good to know. I plan on watching the series with an open mind ignoring all the hatred and backlash that people are trying to bring on the series.

Access media shill seem to be working over time for another show called Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Ring of Power, I expect a more neutral and honest reception.

I had big expectations for GoT HotD and low expectations for LOTS RoP but up to this point - and it's still early, of course - I've enjoyed LotR more than GoT.

I enjoy LOTR more than GOT also. GOT quality faded and the world building pales to LOTR.

Edit: nevermind, the problem fixed itself.

You....you...willingly watched The Hobbit trilogy more than once? That must have been painful.

This isn't a bad show but I am really struggling to make it through this.

O we are still doing that thing were we say The Hobbit trilogy is bad just because it's not LOTR? I thought that died out with the starwars PT bashing.

Anyway this show is great at least the first 2 episode s.

I found Galadriel a little annoying at first but she grew on me. First 2 eps were pretty good. Good acting, well paced, well crafted liked this more than GOT dragons.
