Bit confused by the Infinity description. Not sure but it seems to be implying some of the games might be mere spinoffs instead of core titles, like the Chronicles series.

Valhalla has added two missions that wrap up Eivor's story and set up some of Mirage's. One's just kind of a search that shows a few cutscenes and the other is a sort of fort infiltration featuring a character from the forthcoming game.

Showcase showed some gameplay footage. As expected it looks like a return to basics (Both in play and scenery) although it didn't really show the HUD.

There will be a VR game, Nexus; according to the descriptions it will involve Ezio, Connor and Kassandra; Ezio between "Brotherhood" and "Revelations"; Conner during his main arc during the war; and Kassandra during the Thirty Tyrants era of ancient Greece.

Date has been moved up a week early to October 5th. Seems they're fairly confident in this.

    Reviews are in.

Seems to deliver what it promised, a return to the 'roots' of the franchise with most of the RPG elements removed (although those games were well-received in general, they kind of drifted further from the stealth gameplay, Kassandra/Alexios and Eivor also weren't really members of the Hidden Ones either). Kind of like the first game as well, but without that game's issues.

Sorry to bump this again. Played the game and overall enjoyed it. The game definitely is a return to roots as it is HIGHLY encourages stealth (The combat system is very simple and not designed for tackling multiple foes like the faction battles in Odyssey and the raids in Valhalla) mainly sneaking behind guards although the game later unlocks throwables such as knives, smoke bombs, blowdarts etc.) which are helpful, as well as a sort of weird teleporting thing called Assassin's focus. A lot has been scaled back, the skill tree which was massive in Valhalla is much smaller here, loot just gives you a few coins (pickpocketing actually earns you bigger rewards) the weapon and armor upgrades are far rarer, there's just a few bureaus and no massive hub like Valhalla's village. No bow and arrows this time either.

Visually it's pretty much the same as Valhalla and the other two prequels as far as graphics pretty much. Bigger crowds though but still not as busy as UNITY. There's a fairly big wilderness where animals will ocassionally attack you but no massive boars or other animals like in the last few games, just the occasional snake or leopard, or annoyed gazelle, ostrich, or of course the chickens.

There is no present day stuff, which is a bit odd since Basim is also now the modern day "protagonist" as well but I suppose it would've been confusing for those who might have this as their first game. There isn't even any animus stuff, there's just these globes which include historical facts and seem to be this games's version of the "Discovery mode" which also seems to not be a thing. Indeed the Valhalla expansion which teases this game hints that Williams Miles has plans for Basim, but it's not mentioned here. (The game also lets you know what happened to Rosham in Viking times)

Basim's a bit bland compared to some of the other protagonists but that might be part of the point as he's not really his own person as first. Rosham is actually more interesting IMO with her husky voice provided by Shohreh Aghdashloo.

If it has DLC maybe have some of the present day stuff with Basim, the training of Hytham,or some extra stuff with Rosham maybe being playable.
