Considering the entire thing is his idea/passion project? I'd say quite awhile.

True, but that probably depends on if he can keep working with Marvel Studios or is happy with what they put out...

Yeah, he was announced to be cast four years ago now so I imagine that if he's waited this long he'll wait a little more.

This movie can't seem to catch a break. it is one bad news after the other. Marvel may be struggling with this movie. Blade is meant to be rated R -they need to find a work way around not giving it R and at the same time satisfy the cast like Ali and whoever the director is meant to be.

Or, they could, you know, make it a R-rated movie. Worked fine for Deadpool

Blade doesn't need to be Rated R.

Not at all. Most people are just saying that because the original was. That doesn't make it needed.

They just need to give it to whoever was responsible for Werewolf by Night.

Eh, I wasn't really moved by that tbh. They need a gritty genre director. Hell, bring back Stephen Norrington.

It doesn't need to NOT be either.

Only one side is arguing "need," so this doesn't really matter.

Sweet Jesus! This doesn't bode well for this movie having the lead actor rewriting the script.

This movie is now on the pile that "I don't believe it will see the light of day" until I actually see a trailer.

Does anyone have a favorite Blade storyline from the comics they can pull from? I never really read much of his solo adventures - mostly just when he was with the Midnight Sons. (maybe the film needs to get Morbin'... throw in Deadpool for a meta joke about Blade:Trinity and you're all set! )
